Vertigo

Vertigo is a design accessory raised from the incessant research of new shapes and the use of the highest quality materials. The map, carefully updated by our cartographers, shows countries, capitals, cities, rivers, seas and oceans, becoming not only an elegant piece of furniture but an essential tool for planning your journeys.

When we think of the word "Vertigo" we can only refer to the feeling that catches us in front of great heights. However, originally this word was mainly used to indicate the rotation of celestial bodies. Galileo Galilei, for example, when writing about the clouds, said that «they would be seen moving with very fast, large and constant motion, carried by the diurnal vertigo of the earth».

It’s from this ancient and noble meaning that we took the inspiration to name this globe, with a strongly contemporary design. The dual axis sphere’s rotation which allows a full consultation, wonderfully express the “vertigo” cited by the great Italian astronomer, father of the modern science.

An elegant structure in solid walnut rises from a circular base in stainless steel which, by tracing soft and essential lines, sustains – without imprisoning – the terrestrial globe. The detailed map of this globe is political, with natural tones perfectly matched and harmonious with the walnut structure.
